cutting bumpstops on tein ra coilovers
i have tein ra's on my 94 civic that are technically for the itr. my car weighs considerably less than a 2500lb itr and i am having to lower the spring perches too much which i think is contributing to ride harshness... is it ok for me to cut the bumpstops in half or do i have to just raise the car up alittle more? thanks for any input.
I don't think cutting the bump stops will help with ride quality unless your car is slammed low and your riding on them. You've just got a monotube, 45mm piston, 14kg/mm front 10kg/mm rear sprung coilover meant for the track, not for a "comfortable ride".

dont get me wrong i have been riding on these for over 6 months and i am not getting rid of them i am considering upgrading to zeal s6 b/c they are 3way adjustable but they dont have pillowballs.... the thing is i dont know whether im hitting my bumpstops or not, i am not slammed in my civic, the tires arnt tucked or anything, but its still got about a 2" drop from the skock 4x4 height. i figure b/c my car is a few hundred lbs lighter than the itr, an itr owner would be able to have the perches an inch or so higher, and get a inch more of shock travel as a result.
correct me if im wrong though. thanks for the help
