How can I tell if I really need to replace my pipe-A?
Hello guys, could someone tell me how can I tell if I really need to replace my pipe-A? The dealer told me that the sounds that I'm hearing is probably my pipe-A. How much I'm expecting to put a new pipe-A, parts and labor? Thanks for any input.
Thanks again,

The one on my '95 GS-R made a buzzing noise that sounded just like a loose heat shield. Drove me nuts 'cause I couldn't find anything loose.
The A-pipe is a pipe-inside-of-a-pipe. The inner pipe buzzes against the outside pipe. I don't know how to tell for sure until you take it off & look. Make sure its not just a rattling heat shield, tho...
That's a real expensive pipe ($400?). It was cheaper for me to buy a DC header. Don't know about labor, it took me a couple hours.

If you hear rattling on a 94-95 GSR from 3-4K RPMs, chances are its your a-pipe. Just get an aftermarket header or a used 96-99 header, that will solve it.
