Do you have a EF because you want one...
This is kinda OT, but didnt think real tech people went into the members corner. So hopefully i wont get shut down, but im using this info for a paper im gonna be doing....anywayssss
Did you buy a EF/ED becase you wanted one? Or because it was in your budget?
Ive had a 90 hatch, now i have a 91 4dr, and my next project will for sure be another EF, i just love them. Just curious if im the only one...

well i had a rex... sorta loved it because if the looks and weight advantage, but hated it because of the room.= got salvaged
.. took the insurance money and bought a 90 civic si the next day.
Yes i love the looks of the EF, but i also love the EG & EK too.

Good to see im not alone, whew. Just something about the EFs that seem almost rebel like, EG/EKs seem like the standard hooked up hatch, but to step out of the box and do a 88-91 just seems like going against the grain due to low asthetic aftermarket parts...yeah i just woke up so im babbling.

I bought my first one in 1990, then went to a Prelude, sold the Prelude and just bought another 1991 hatchback about 4 months ago. I love the 4th gen hatches.
well i bought mine for a variety of reasons....
1. i like the styling way back when i didn't even have a license. the boxy shape of the hatches just attracted me.
2. the 4th gens are the second lightest chassis of all honda cars. this would be good for when i use the car for racing.
3. i didn't want to spend $3k - $5k on an eg or later model only to strip it down and race it where it could be wrecked. so money was somewhat a factor here.

both.
91 si because i love the 4th gens.
91 std because i love 4th gens and it was cheap.
i plan on adding a 91 crx si and a 91 awd wagon to my collection ASAP.
the only thing i dont like is what a pain it is to swap an h22 into it.

I bought a 99 Si, and sold it to get a CRX. That's my example of how much I love the styling. I've had 3 ED's since, and love them.
They're BY FAR the best looking Civics and I don't know what else you could get that would be as cheap , fun and reliable
I went Civicless for 3 years and every time I'd see a nice EF , I'd point it out to everyone - that they didn't care didn't bother me . Other than maybe an EG Si , there really isn't another Civic I'd actually want , the newer ones are just awful looking cars and I don't think they have the same *feel* as the 4gens either ; they feel so much bigger and less forgiving IMO .

My sister had a CRX around '95-'96. When I rode in it, I loved the way it felt - how you are so close to the floor of the car when you're in the seat.
I forgot about that, but about 3 years after that my buddy and I were about to get our licenses. He kept telling me how he's wanted a CRX for so long, and I remembered how cool they were.
He finally got his, for a primary driver (but he hasn't done anything to it) but I already had my 99 Civic coupe. So I saved and saved, finally got up the ***** to spend $2300 on my 1989 CRX - just for fun, and yes, I do like it very much.
Even if I had found a 92-00 Hatch for $2300, I'm still happier with my CRX.

I actually didn't plan on getting my hatch. I bought it after blowing the engine in my MKIII Supra turbo and was actually looking for either another turbo MKIII, a turbo 2nd gen RX-7 or a cheap EG hatch. But they're hard to find around here. It took me about 2 weeks to finally decide to buy my gold hatch. I really hated the brown interior, which was the main reason I didn't want the car. But I l kept looking and couldn't find what I wanted, and I really needed a car, so I bought it. And now I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to by more EFs. They're great cars and I love them.
But I still hate my brown interior.

i would take a si EG anyday over a si EF (if it is clean), i was going to buy a EG si for 3k clean, but the guy flaked on me last minute, and since si EG cost at least 4k, i had to go with a EF
bought my crx because i love the way the car looks. a lot of people from where i live thinks its an ugly car, but i don't care what they think. its always been one of my top choices ever since i've been in the scene.
plus, i bought it for $250, so you can't beat that. of course, there was no motor though.

i bought my ef because it was cheap, light, and looks tight. but i kinda grew out of owning my crx, so im about to sell it and grab me a gsr. i need something newer, more stylish (not that im saying the ef isnt, i just dig integras), and with more seats.
I purchased my 90 HB for $100 in awesome condition....of course i work in the car business, so it was someones trade in that i just happen to STEAL!!
I got mine cause it was cheap, i knew the people that owned the car and i knew it usually got well maintained, and I just loved it. I just love how nice and small it is, cheap on insurence.... If this car ever gets wrecked or something, I'll most likely get another one, maybe an Si next time tho.
I am not going to lie, i LOVE my hatchback but if I had the money I would have gotten something different.
EFs
It's quite the car for a little 15 year old kid like me!!!
