EX headers work for a CX,DX,LX? seach didn't do much
I know its been brought up a couple times and the search didn't give me a straight answer... I know there was a thread that explained everything in detail on what needs to be done to switch it all over, but I couldn't find it
Situation is.. I need a new cat for my 98 lx.. but as we all know that the cat is right off the header. I need to replace my cat and there are no bolt on applications, and i don't want to pay over 4-500 at the dealer for a new cat.
But I know you can use an ex header and some other stuff from the ex that will take care of everything..because they do make bolt on apps. for the ex.
So anyone know wuz sup or know where i can get a bolt on cat for my lx?

I used an EX header + EX cat on my CX. No problems. You'll have to extend the O2 sensor wires to reach all the way down to the new cat location, but that's easy.
There is a bracket underneath the car that mounts to the header differently on the EX and CX. You should get the new bracket from Honda. Other than that, that's the only thing I did, and it all works out great. Good luck, if there's anything I forgot, let me know.

i believe all d series headers work on any d series engine, any year.
Dude, the exhaust manifold/ cat assembly is faulty from the factory. I had my manifold crack and drove with it for a year as it was just a little loud(actually sounded good), but I couldn't pass inspection. I called Honda and it turns out there is an 80,000 mile warranty on the assembly. If you are under that you can go to any official Honda dealer and they will do the service for FREE. I had it done 3 weeks ago, not 1 cent out of my pocket. That is the cheap fix, but the other posts are right, any D series header, but you will need a new exhaust to fit a new cat on, as well as have to work to get it to fit. Good luck, hope your under 80 thou.
