Default '94 headlights vs '98....

I'm doing the '98 conversion on my '95 GSR. But here is the problem. I bought a pair of headlights, but the driver side is broken. Only the lense is good. The back bodies (housings) of the '95 and the '98 look identical but I could be wrong. Could I replace the '98 lense onto the '95 headlight housing rather than buy a whole new headlight? Has anyone tried this yet? Please share your experience if you know. Thanks.

I tried the search but couldn't come up with anything.
(took forever with the 56k)
Just need to know if the '98 lens will fit into the '94 housing.

Thanks.

I did the same conversion and i was looking at the houseings and they doo look the same but i think the reflectors are different. I am not sure but if you think you can why not try? Headlights do get expesive if you try and fail so be sure first if you can. Good luck

I don't think anyone has tried this yet, as people tend to replace the whole headlight assembly. No harm in trying, take your bumper off and get to it! Then let us know

I think it will work. The chrome reflector ring around the projector is actually screwed to the lens, so that would be swapped over along with the outer clear lens itself. Give it a try. Just look at the two very carefully along the edges where the front and rear halves meet, make sure they are the same shape, and take some measurements if you have to. It should work.

My friend wanted to change his headlights also of a recent accident and he changed them also. Only problem is that when he wanted to put his stock front bumper on... it didn't fit. The 98's are angled, the 94's are not..

I hit a wall two years ago and my headlights were over $400 each.

I think the going street price nowadays is quite a bit cheaper.

I looked at it more closely today, but it looks like the metal tabs that holds the lens to the housing is different. The '94 has the metal while the '98 has plastic tabs, they're in different position. I'll take another look at it tomorrow. I'm not sure how the reflectors are going to work, since the one from the '98 is broken. It's weird how the len survived the impact but half of the housing fell apart.
