koni yellows vs koni reds
koni reds aren't even in the same league. many people are under the impression that koni reds are just non-adjustable koni yellows, but that is far from the truth. koni reds are just supposed to be replacements for stock struts. koni yellows are high performance adjustable shocks.

yep, that graph illustrates the fact that OTS (off the shelf) Koni shocks are only single adjustable for rebound. Compression damping is constant, as shown by the red and yellow lines, but rebound has an adjustable range, shown by the red and yellow (overlapping) areas.

Where do Koni oranges fall into the mix? I thought the oranges were the direct OEM replacement from Koni, which I why you can't use them with lowering springs too far off factory spec (like 1-1.5 inches lower than stock).

Orange shocks are a part of their STRT kits that come packaged with h&r springs. Basically koni Reds painted orange.
I don't think oranges are adjustable though. I've seen tons of them for sale on their own, just figured they were Koni's OEM replacement for people who had stock height and wanted some Koni shocks.

IMO, the Koni special red strut @ its initial setting feels similar to the orange strt strut in terms of comfort.
