Its possible...with the help of the body shop. this is a common problem. After a car
has been involved in a major accident and in the shop...many times the repairs are done and non oem wiring is damaged or worse shorting against the newly
replaced/repaired panels. You really cant fault the Body shop..many are not skilled in the repair of aftermarket alarms (also time is money) or are not aware of its existance. My advice would be to take the car back to the shop that did the install
( alarm) and have them look at it...and jave a chat with your insurance agent...if the alarm was fully operational before the accident...you want it to be working now. If the shop no longer exists get a quote from 3 reputiable dealers and see if the agent will foot the bill ( i really dont see why not...u just want it as close to before acccident as possible)

Most alarms have a starter-kill relay. Based on your description, it sounds like the relay is intermittently opening and closing which would expalin why you can't start the car sometimes. This can occur with a defective relay or because of a short in one of the wires leading to it. I agree with the previous post, take it back to the shop that installed it. They should be able to tell you what the problem is and it might just be an easy fix.
your alarm draws maybe 20 or 30 milliamps max, it would take a pretty long time to kill your bat that way. if you suffered damage, it may be drawing more, ie pulling through a bad relay etc.
same advice as above, get it looked at... NOW!
there's nothing sadder than a car getting messed with while the alarm is out of service.
