Need some new rotors for the EF, I was thinking of going the usual OEM Honda but if there are some better, yet not so much more expensive alternatives, I am all ears.

 

I'm running Power Stop slotted rotors up front, and my stock drums on the rear. And when I eventually get around to doing a rear disc swap, then I'm going to go with Power Stop slotted rotors in the rear. They're great, and just putting them in the front improved my stopping.

 

Blank Brembos work well with better pads. It helped alot. They are 21$ a piece I believe off of Nopi.

Whats the difference between regular stock rotors and the Brembo Blanks? Different/better metal? Enlighten me.

 

i say powerslot, they were good quality, just slotted i liked em.

 

I'm getting my Power Stop slotted rotors this weekend. I've heard nothing but good things about them.

 

i have ebc's , they are drilled and slotted, kinda different since they dont drill em all the way . i guess its so they wont crack.

 

I have the Power Slot rotors, also. I would recommend them to anybody. I love them.

 

anyone herd anything about bear brakes?

Ive been running Cross-drilled slotted brembos for two years. I haven't touched them at all. even with autozone pads they stop great.

 

I am running factory rotors, and they work great with a upgraded pad. I will try the brembo blanks next time. I have heard very good things about them. Ryan

 

Went from Powerslot, to brembo, back tp powerstop---I am running them with cerametallic pads and they bite like a ****.

 

So to all you people that use slotted rotors do they chew up your brake pads? I have heard that slotted rotors are pretty bad on the pads. What have your experiences been with them?

 

i'm running powerslot rotors with hawk hp plus pads... they worked great when i first put the hawks on (i've had the slotted rotors for a lot longer than the pads). these more aggressive pads are chewing up the rotors. there's a visible lip appearing on the edge of the disc.. maybe 1 or 2 mm tall now. Normally it'd not be a problem because i'd just go get the discs resurfaced.. but nobody seems to want to turn a slotted rotor.. i'm not even sure if it is possible to do.. does anyone know? anyway, i'm going to brembo blanks just so i can resurface them without a hassle if need be. just something to think about.

to answer this.. i used the powerslots with some cheap kragen pads, and they did seem to wear out a little prematurely. but i didn't care because they were really inexpensive. but other than that, they seemed to perform pretty well.

 

yeah I've always though about this too! what the secret with Brembo blanks?

 

i am petty sure there isn't much of a difference besides price. you can get brembo's pretty cheap, but i bet stock rotors from the dealer are lots of $$$.

i would recommned upgrading pads before rotors. you would be amazed how much better your braking is just with good pads.
