Default --==Cold Air Intakes for $50==--

These are actually for a 4th gen Prelude but they fit on Accords. The only difference is a little piece of rubber tubing that bumps up the outer diameter to 3" to accomadate the Prelude throttle body. The tubing is 2.5 inch just like the AEMs. I bought one and I thought I'd pass it on to you guys. I was just looking for a cheap CAI because I plan to go turbo down the road.

There was a groupbuy awhile back on these from this shop. The groupbuy is over but I talked to the guy and he said that he has like 40 or so left. The kit is high quality. They're definitely worth $50. His name is Mike. You can call him at 1-800-273-6915. Just tell him you're interested in those Prelude CAIs from the groupbuy. I've talked to him so you may want to let him know that these are the ones Wally called him about.
The kit:

The piping (2.5 inch)

5th gen engine bay...

This is the only part that would be different on Accords. The rubber sleeve is bumped up to 3" to fit the prelude throttle bodies. Just replace this piece with a piece of rubber sleeve that maintains that diameter and you've got a cheap high quality Accord CAI...

I'm just trying to guide some people who can't afford the AEM stuff. I thought it was a good deal. And I didn't think that I was the only person on the internet who's ever seen it. This is for the people who it IS new to.

Edit: Wow, thanks for the link That was more specific than my post...

I think i still have the aem sleeve in my garage. im me

"so there is no performance differences in the aem and this one???? ... i had asked a frend about the cheap ones and he said they were no good .. but maybe he just dont know jack.... either way good looking out ....."

most of the cai in the market(ebay) are model after aem's.
they even bent the tube the same exact angle and way.
the only different is the diameter..99% of ebay knockoff are 3inch
.if you have a civic or integra you might lost some valocity by using 3inch(2.5inch mostly) but for us..it's pretty damn good.

those are polished finish, i recommend to paint it with ceremic paint.
my cousin got his cai from a friend of mine.
ceremic finish, 1 piece cai, fit like a glove.
The only part we didnt use was the filter, he got an apex'i filter now..

Does the bumper have to be removed to install one on 5gen?

It's the same as any other CAI in respect to the water. I don't think the bumper has to be removed. I'm not sure because on my 5th gen I ripped the resonator out through the fender liner without regard to ever reinstalling it. I would imagine you could do the same...

people worry too much about this. the only time you'll have a problem is if it gets completely submerged into water. Other than that the filter will trap water. just the same as driving in teh rain with a ram air trans am or something, water gets in there but it's not a big deal unless it gets completely under water and sucks strait water. and it doesn't splash into it either beause it's IN FRONT of the front wheel.....(unless you are driving backwards)

i think it looks long because you have to turn the piping to make if fit. that is just laid on top , not set in place.
