Default lighting kill switch help with security?

I did a search on kill swithes and saw something about a lighting kill switch... so you could turn off every light on your car with a switch. People were talking about doing this to run from the cops . But wouldn't this be a good security mod? If every time I parked my car, I hit the kill switch so when someone steals my car (almost guarunteed its gonna happen at night) they'd have to drive it around with no lights almost assuredly causing them to get pulled over.

Yes, its a feature on some anti-car- jacking systems.
If you were a cop, I bet you'd pull a car over at night driving with no lights on, I know I would.

Do you already have a security system? If not, look at a Clifford G4 alarm system with the wireless immobilizer and anti-carjacking feature. This way, the theif won't be able to get anywhere even if he had your keys. Otherwise, what you're asking can be done with a couple of 12-volt Bosch relays. If you want more detail, let me know.

never really thought of that, i guess it would be a good idea. But my question is, why you would have to install a light kill switch to use when running from the cops. Why not just turn them off??
