gsr master brake cylinder?
anyone know if GSR brake cylinder will fit into a 1991 crx si? has this been done before or can it be done at all? worth doing? any advice is appreciated, tks guys
i wanted to do this also, but have not gotten the time/money to do it. and i am also lazy.
to answer your question, it will not bolt up to a 88-91 boster, but as far as i kno wyou can swap the whole boster and master out to a GSR. i was going to do my crx to a 2000 si boster/master, but still need to find a master, so untill then. i am useing a 90-91 civic ex master, i belive they are a little bigger, and i got mine for free

but bascially it will work correctly.. once you have both GSR booster and master cylinder in hand.. i'm researching this for my brother as he had purchased my CRX.. and wants this to go with the 90-91 ex knuckles up front, brake lanes he bought, pads, and new rotors he got.. our next challenge is the suspension..
prolly GC sleeves with some ers springs.. and i dont know if this will work but it be worth a shot to ask, ITR pillow mounts?
Tks yall

i have the 90-91 ex knuckles on my 90 HB. are u looking to go with 95 Prelude VTEC rotors? and a type r caliper? that is what i have...it is awesome...but kinda a pain to set up...well not a "pain" but i just didn't bolt on the way i like things to bolt on...needed too much cutting, drilling and grinding for my tastes....awesome setup once it was done though! I have the GSR master cylinder too...and yes it will work, u just need the booster too.
I put a 90-93 Integra master cylinder and brake booster in two of my EFs and it worked awesome and they bolt in. Made the biggest difference in braking compared to doing rotors, pads and lines.
I have used both the MC from the '89 Accord 7/8 inch bore and it is plug and play except the front brake line needs to be bent slightly to fit. I believe the '89 Accord LXi is a 15/16 and is the same. I recommend starting the two brake line flair fittings (Front one first) to the MC before trying to bolt it to the Brake Booster it is sooooo!!! much easier. The 90-91 EX MC is a plug and play also but costs much more.
OK so for you that have done it...All you have to do is change the m/c with the 90-91 EX and not the brake booster correct? Also for those of you who have changed the m/c and booster is it that much of a difference?? I mean is it that much bigger of a difference to change the booster and the m/c over just the m/c??

If you do not upgade to the larger (read that more powerfull) brake booster then the peadal will feel very firm but give more feedback as to how much you are braking. I personally like that as it is very easy to lockup the front brakes on the Civic stock and this makes it have a better feel with much less pedal travel.
