Precision Racing Org Events
Go! It's worth it!
$85 and you get a Friday practice day (don't waste a sick day being sick) and a *minimum* of 6 competition runs. Compare the cost/run and it's not bad compared to most good-sized autocrossing organizations. And you get to run with, watch, and compare youself to big-time national drivers. Make it into the top 25 and you will get at least $50 in TireRack money!
The events are amazingly well run, especially for an organization that has only put on 5 events so far. There was always a crowd around the LIVE scoring display, good announcing. And you can see the same display and hear the same announcer on the LIVE webcast!
Yes, the scoring system is complex but my understanding of it greatly improved on my second event. In a nutshell:
Round 1 (all drivers, 6 runs) = Drive as fast as you can
Round 2 (top 75 drivers, 2 runs) = Go faster
Round 3 (top 25 drivers, 2 runs) = Faster still
Round 4 (top 10 drivers, 2 runs)= Is that all you got?
These guys have a lot on the line to start a venture like this and their events get better the more people participate. Show them your appreciation and help the series continue by participating, I guarantee you'll not regret it.

I was thinking about hitting 1 or 2 of these this year. Do you just show up the morning of the 1st day (friday) and pay/register? ...or do I need to sign up before hand?
I think I might be going to the Nashville event the weekend of the divisional.
There is an Event at Beaverun the same weekend as the Type-R Expo so any of you honda-Tech guys shoudl stop in and say hello.

Where the heck do trucks get classified for PRO?
Vracer111, who'd like to do a PRO event with the Tacoma (if they'll let him)...since the Integra won't be ready for a while.

Just go to the PROrg forums and asking about the truck classing. Heyward generally responds within 24 hours. It's probably T9 (which is roughly equivalent to HS).
I'll be at the first Nashville weekend... don't know about the second one.

On a good day I can be well under the 24 hour mark. Simply enough our rule book states that cars will be classed on as "as need" basis. Most trucks, includung the Tacoma run in T10, assuming that mods are minimal. Thanks Will for starting the thread, I would love to see more of you guys come out. We are going to continue to develop, adjust, and build this series, the best is yet to come!

sounds great.. however for me, autocross is so appealing because of the $30-40 event fees.. =[

Thanks Heyward for clarification on where light trucks can go to play. Karen, you were sooo close...
But I think the K&N FIPK intake system bumps me over to IS instead of T...
Might as well go ahead and weld in the mounts for the rear anti-roll bar that will kick me over to IS then...
As far as $30-$40 autocross event fees....that's pretty high I think. Here it's only $20-$25 for regional events.
