Default Door lock actuators in an eg...

Anyone installed after market actuators in a 92 civic sedan? I can't find a good place to to mount them.

Anyone have any pictures of them installed?

You can actually mount actuators backwards actually. Just reverse the polarity so it pushes instead of pulls. There's a space behind the armrest that might work for you. Just sneak the rod through wherever you have to.

Is there somewhere on the actual door lock assembly I can use to unlock the door?

I've been trying to find a place to attach to the actual door look plunger.

The stock door lock solenoid mounts to the latch assembly but I doubt you could adapt a 'universal' unit to work in that location. Its just too tight. Attaching something to the from the lock button or finding the OEM solenoids at a junk yard are your best bet.

I put mines right above the rod that connects to the locking mechanism on the inside. And i placed it on the inside of the door. So instead of pulling in order to open the door, it pushes. Works nicely have not had a problem yet, plus it works great with my alarm

Where exactly did you mount the actuator though? Just drill through the door panel?

not the door panel but the door itself. The actuator should be inside of the door, facing the glass. I wish i had some pics to give you an better idea of what im talking about. You will have to bend the rod towards the outside of the door and connect it to the factory rods. Once you finish everything should be covered with the factory supplied plastic.

No no, I know it has to go inside the door, I've installed actuators before, just not in a Civic

Need to know where, and how to mount them in the door frame.

One good way to mount them is to just run a screw through the mounting location into the plastic hole on the actuator . That'll hold it very close to the metal.

had the same problem in my rex... we ended up cutting out a section of the door and mounting them with a piece of backstrap shaped like a "u"...

i'll try and post a pic or two in the next few days if no one else does...

You guys rock if you can get me pics

Just remeber I have a 4 door so my "lock" is up near the window at the edge of the door, not part of my door handle

Wish it was part of the handle, would have been 1000 times easier.
