Jackson Racing SUPERCHARGER for 97-01 Prelude QUESTION!!!
I will be getting a Jackson Racing Supercharger for my 5th Gen 97-01 Prelude base. i have a few questions.
1. Is it okay to run with just i/h/e, with stock internals?
2. how is the air/fuel ratio? will i run lean? if so what do i need to have proper mix?
3. what is maximum recommended boost?
4. i don't want to put my car in the shop for a month to fix blowing my engine, so what inexpensive things can i do to make sure i won' tdamage my car?

You will most likely see a/f numbers 13:1 and above. For non-intercooled boost, I would consider this dangerously lean. With only i/h/e, the JR "ems", and the JR FMU, you should only run the stock pressure that the kit is designed for, 6 psi. There is nothing inexpensive you can do to make it safer. There are a few routes you can take to make it "safer", but I would suggest dumping the JR "ems", FMU, and pump and getting larger injectors and a standalone with the stock fuel pump. Have the system tuned by a professional, and shoot for a/f numbers around 12.5:1. Get 440s if you plan on sticking with 6 psi, get 550s if you would like to bump it up to 9 psi. If you want to boost higher than 9 psi, get a turbo.

if you want strait line performand get a Turbo. most people waste their money on a JRSC and end of getting rid of it and getting a turbo. I knew one guy that was so pissed at it that he took a hammer and smashed it . turbos are also more reliable if treated right. if you are into autocross, then a T3 turbo can still give you the same perfromance as a JRSC with the benefits of turbo. i can recomend making your own kit with a T3 or get a Greddy kit for autocross or if you want to rape people in a strait line then get a Rev Hard or my personal favorite the Drag Gen3 Kit.
see the reason why i might get the jrsc is because there is someone who is selling it for 1,800... personally i want to get the greddy turbo kit for my car...
i mean i hear i will run high 13's with jrsc 6lbs, and mid 13's with greddy turbo at 6lbs... ALL ON STOCK INTERNALS which is good cuz doing all that engine work is mad money...

a standalone system as mentioned above is overkill IMO for a 6psi setup. they are right though when they say the JR fueling setup is not the best. a common new setup is an SMC with 450cc dsm injectors. this eliminates the need for the FMU or a larger fuel pump. this will need to be either dyno tuned, or if you have a wideband o2 sensor you could street tune it with that. the SMC sells for around $120 and injectors can be had for less than $100. that might be your best bet. thats what i'm doing anyways.
