Default Brake Pads

What kinda brake pads do you recommend for a 95 LS Sedan? My current pads are worn out & need to be replaced asap, and I was just wondering what are some good brake pads to look at. The ones that are on my ride right now are ones I got from Schucks, forgot the brand.. but they lasted me about 6 months. Is that average?

HOlla back with some suggestions

I did a poll a while back and the result was axxis ultimates with the most votes and over the last couple months, i've heard nothing but good things about the performance of these... (although i think they have a little bit more brake dust than less aggressive pads). And i've also heard an equal amount of good things about cobaltfriction.com and the member here is runs it.. i forget his name... but has a good rep here at HT. I don't think you will go wrong gettin those... i'm actually waitin until mine wear out to pick up a set myself.

wouldn't recommend something i wouldnt use personally

Thanks.. what are the price ranges of these brake pads you mentioned? I want something high quality & affordable. I will check out axxis and others, and decide what will benefit me most.

just give him a call, tell him ur from h-t
tell him ur car, he'll ask u some questions and reccomend a pad for you

I'm using Cobalt Friction GT-Sport in the front, and Axxis Ultimates in the rear, I couldn't be happier.

What are you doing to go through pads every six months?

Any "good" pad isn't going to be that cheap. Go to autozone and pick up some front pads for $20 or so. They'll work just fine, and won't need to build up much heat to make them stop like some of the more race-oriented pads will.

Of course, if you are racing (not on the street, right? ), then search the road racing forum for brake pad suggestions. The subject has been covered many times.

see what i said bout cobaltfriction? hehe... its rare to see a company get nothing but good comments on a board like ours where we are so particular about our car parts and the service we get. I think it says a great deal about the companies service and products

if your abs light is coming on, i think its a different problem then just worn pads. might wanna get that checked out, or just go ahead and bleed your abs system. i am running axxis ultimates in the front and rear that andie sold me. they're a good pad, but they do dust a lot and recently, i've been gettin a bit of squeaking. look for matt bookler who works at carbotech (h-t name: maddmatt) as his company just released the carbotech bobcat which has been getting recent praise. i think i will try those out when my ultimates die, but for now, i can vouch for the ultimates.

seriously, if ur abs light is on then thats a different story than if ur "e" brakelight came on.

when did you last have ur abs bled?

the older of the third gen integras have a different abs unit than the newer models and have a seperate reservoir wit brake fluid in it for the abs and ever once in a while that crap needs to get bled... if it doesnt, i think it will have a hard time pressurizing the system and will give u an abs light... but it could very well be something else so i would have it checked out... the abs could be having any one of many possible issues

Axxis Metal Masters or AEM(nissin) pads are the way to go.

They sound like hell when they are cold, but otherwise I have stock rotors with about 65k on them and they are doing as good as ever, no signs of warpage or anything.
