Default EF Swap Techs Please look

Mods please leave this thread in here, I think since this is the Ef forum my problems might be answered faster here then the Hybrid forum since the EF forum gets more hits

Ok Here in my problem...........................
I have a 1991 Si hatchback, I bought a 2001 LS (automatic) longblock and adapted the USDM Ys1 92-93 GSR cable tranny to it... I am using the Place racing 3 mount kit with the 90-93 integra rear mount bracket.. So we got the motor in and bolted up and wired up.. Go to fire it over and we get sparks, The crank Pulley is rubbing the radius rod badly... My car is lowered about 1 and 3/4 inchs all around. We went around and made sure all the mounts were tighten and they were. So i slapped my stock shocks in the front since i dont have the spanner wrenchs to raise the coilovers. Once i had my stock shocks in the front i took it for a ride, There seemed to be no motor movement, seemed pretty tight.
Can someone please help me? i want me car back

[B] The picture above is with the coilovers on the car and the car was lowered as i said 1 & 3/4 inchs around. Once anyone gets in the car (even my 60 pound little brother) it hits the radius rod and shoots sparks..

Yeah, that's what I would try. Sorry to hear about this man, I too know the pain of non working swaps... hence my signature...

crap. I just realized that this won't work! You can only lower the motor, not raise it up. You have place racing mounts, huh? Your motor should be sitting fine. Is there collision damage on the car?

Normally I wouldn't suggest doing this, but Maybe you could grind the rod down a a little bit... (I don't know how much your motor is contacting it, so this may be a moot suggestion).

get a ctr crank pulley, or cut the one you have and balance it.

yes they are Place Racing mount kits as i have listed at the very top of this thread.... Also, are you 100% sure a ctr pulley will work cause 145 bucks is a stabb in the heart for something that wont work....

Very perplexing. It's kinda hard to tell from those pics if the motor is sitting level in the engine bay. Maybe if you took one looking "head on" with the car, then maybe an angle could be seen. I've had a B18A in my CRX, and it had a least 1.5" of clearance from the radius rod. But I had custom mounts made, so that could be a difference. Interesting....

Edit: After looking at the pics again, the motor seems to positioned a bit more forward than other B-series swaps I've seen. Maybe it's just me. Seems like you have a lot of room between the firewall the the intake manifold. I think if the motor was a bit more back toward the firewall, the pulley might clear the radius rod. Again, it might just be me misinterpreting the pics.

that was my thoughts as well. actually, i remember reading a topic like this awhile back but i dont know if it was yours or not. but i remember the idea of the CTR pulley being tossed around. i guess it depends on where its hitting. as far as how low the engine is, you might have to take more pics. the current ones you have dont help much for depth perception since our monitors are 2D. try taking a "sea level" pic just above the fender, if that makes sense.

One question? I'm just wondering why your using the newer engine mount on the driver side? I thought the 90-93 mount is supposed to be used with the EF kits. My HAsport Billet kit uses it. Could that be a problem? Although it does look like it is made to fit by looking at the pics. Look under the car to see if the oil pan is tilted toward the driver side. Mount postion is lower because of it. I've lowered my car about 2.5-3" in the front and don't have a problem. And my front end is to far back because of a wreck, I didn't notice to pull it forward. Check the mounts, If the car is straight, must be a mount problem to me.

the soda bottle is temporary duh, i have the regular oem bottle sitting aside the car. As far as the other pics you guys requested, here they are.....

A friend of mine brought up about the 90-93 Integra side engine mount bracket that bolts to the Place mount, i have the Place racing BIM04 kit and i was told i didnt need to change the oem 2001 LS side mount on the motor... Could that possibly be my problem?

Welp here are the pics....

What driver side mount bracket are you using? I think your suppost to use the 90-93 teg driver side mount bracket you know the bracket that the actual motor mount bolts onto?

I am using the stock 2001 LS side mount bracket cause i was told the new BIM04 kit from place racing i didnt have to get the 90-93 side mount bracket....... That person who told me that could be wrong though.......
