RPM needle sticks and 0 then jumps up to normal, what the?
91 crx si... When i start the car cold with will idle at 1200 for a few seconds, then go down to like 1000 for a few more seconds, then i will sink all the way down to zero. Obviouly my car is still running so it cant be at 0 rpm's. It doesnt always stick, it will however allways go down to 0 when at idle and when your driving at any speed with clutch engaged. Also many times it will seem to get stuck at zero for a second or two. When taking off from a stop light it will remain at 0 when first taking off then jump up (catch up to normal) and be fine at all other rpm's.
Anyone ever experince this or have a solution or idea please???
BTW: only mods : AEM CAI, dc headers, and exhuast with 2-1/4"piping still have a cat and resonator
Changed oil, spark plugs and wires, cap + rotor, fuel filter, valve adjustment, pcv valve

well it used to jump around then when i took off the distributor cap to replace it and the rotor... the rotor screw was tight enough and the rotor was rotating with a wobble... well when i replaced the cap and rotor problem disappeared. But still this problem
hmmm i think i'm gonna hook up an aftermarket tach and see what it does, see how accurate the stock cluster is, maybe it's just off
now that i think about it. the guy before me used to have indiglo gauges and broke the rpm needle, he replaced it with another needle from the junk yard. So i guess he couldnt have put it on in the exact position. Does the tach needle self-calibrate or no?

thank god it's FIXED... in case you care or maybe someone else will dig this thread up i just pulled the needle out, put it back in tested it and just keep doing it till it was there. If the needle wasnt pressed it all the way the needle would act sluggish
