The EL blower is different than what he is talking about, his is an insert to make air swirl. Neither of them do anything, they are equally useless. But you can wire up that EL blower to your cigarette lighter and have a nice interior fan.

ok...what does it do, just make the air spin?

if you make the air spin in the intake tube:
-what happens when it hits the butterfly in the throttle body?
-what happens when it has to take a hard right and split between the plenum/runners?
-what about at the valve...isnt that what makes the air spin/shapes the flow cone?

in their commercial they have an air pump with a little prop in it. the prop only spins when the tornado is on top of the intake tube. but if you watch everytime the guy gets his hand near the intake the prop starts to spin. wtf is that?

then they have that trick with the tornado in between the two soda bottles. thats passing water from one large chamber to another through a small hole. NOT an internal combustion engine!

then they say that it makes your engine work like a jet engine by spinning the air. a jet engine has two main sets of blades. compressor blades and turbine blades...as the air enters it gets compressed in stages until it enters the combustion chamber and ignites then the hot high pressure gas turns the turbine blades. gas turbines are efficient yes...but they like to spin at constant speeds, not varying like a car. the internal combustion engine could also be somewhat efficient if it ran at one speed...but we all know that it doesnt.

so basically if they made an infomercial that wasn't based towards the ignorant and they had actual proven dyno and mpg data then i might say something different. i think the add says like 24% mpg gain on a 2001 civic (didn't say model). so if it was 35mpg to start then youd get 43.4 mpg after the tornado?!?! my 87 dx gets like 32-35 mpg usually and gets about 40-42 on long trips in the summer...but i dont have a tornado. i should get one cause then i could get 50mpg!!!

And on the infomercial they talk about how you get better air/fuel atomization when in a fuel injected car, that means nothing because the air and fuel mix happen in the cylinder. It'd only provide that on a carb'd car.
