Default egr question

i have a 95 v6 accord, my egr seems to be throwing me an error code 92, correct me if im wrong, theres an egr sensor connected to the egr valve rite? te sensor is electrical and the valve is mechanical? is that rite so far? if its tru, typical does the mechanical valve has a higher chance of breaking than the electrical sensor? if so cant i take the mechanical valve out and clean or fix it?

have you ever removed the rgr vavle? every time you remove it, you must replace the gasket or it will throw a code. mine did that till i put in a new gasket

As far as I know, everything you stated is correct. However, the error code is most likely because the lift sensor didn't send the correct information to the ECU because it's either faulty or because the valve didn't or couldn't lift enough..

not sure about your year but they may not offer the egr valve and sensor seperately... at a dealership that is.

you can clean out the egr and the port the egr is connected to, however it may not be the problem if the sensor is sending the wrong lift figure to the ecu.

There is a solenoid that controls the vac to the EGR valve. The valve can be cleaned up, but the solenoid shouldnt be dirty at all.

It could be the passages in the head that are keeping the valve from getting exhaust and throwing your code. I would clean all of these while your in there.

the solenoid is which one? btw, i need to fix this cuz i have a smog check comin up, so i cant use the bypass or blockoff idea, maybe after i will, but i need to pass smog check..btw, only exhaust passes through the egr equipment rite? so no liquids should be coming out rite?

The gasket below the EGR valve will need to be replaced too. Mine came off in a bunch of pieces when I took it off. <$5.

the egr port must also be cleaned becuase it might be clogged. to the do that you must take off the intake manifold. then you need a certain size drill bit and drill it all out. after that wash it all out. i'd recomned replacing the sensor and the gasket. bring it back to ur dealership because i work at a honda dealership and i think there might be a recall on that.

there is a recall on it. Let honda do it, don't just start drilling.
