I would go straight to the local auto parts store and buy a generic gas cap.

The gas cap does several things: It keeps the gas fumes from venting to the atmosphere. It keeps out dirt and water. And it reduces the risk of fire.

People forget them all the time and most filling stations have a box full of them.
Just go to a few and tell them you forgot yours. Look through the collection for one that fits your car.

I would think most gas caps are like one size, right?

the gas caps adds pressure to your fuel system, thats why when you run your tank real low and take the cap off, there is a hissing sound. im pretty sure that you need it. you can get one for free at the local yard. they are usually cool about it.

have you ever taken off the cap and heard that ssiissssss.. kinda like a release in pressure?

i know that when we do stuff with our FPR we take off the cap on the gas

Moisture will condense in your gas tank and reduce the quality...

One thing I always liked about Accords is the gas cap holder on the inside of the filler lid.

This has to be one of the most useless posts on the accord forum todate. This is like me asking you guys ..............:" Hey guys my tires look flat should I put air in my tire or should I just wait to see what happens while i drive on them flat."

That's what I was thinking, why was it on the roof to begin with??? Oh well, don't do it again.
