Default base vs sh exhaust question

i will be having a BASE engine in my 2001 SH (dont' ask why its still a secret).

in any case, i want to know if there is a major difference between the exhausts from the cat back in terms of the muffler tailpipe section and how they are routed?

will an exhaust made for a base model fit on that setup?

It is not the engine that is the issue here-it is the ATTS and the routing of the downpipe. You will still use the stock SH exhaust manifold to gain the clearance you need for the exhaust. No changes are required and No the Base exhaust will not fit-IF-you are keeping the ATTS.

The exhuasts are different in that the header is longer on one and the exhaust is therfore shorter. I think it is due to the difference in space with the atts up front.....i think , anyway. if you have a base engine and you are running a base exhaust manifold, or header, then you would need the base exhaust. I dont think that there is any other reason for the different lengths, so you should be good with that. I actually got sent a base exhaust and had to cut three inches out of it to fit my car, so it was routed all the same, only difference was the three inches.
EDIT.....yeah if you you still have the atts then you will have problems, you will not be able to use the base exhaust, i was assuming you did this swap to get rid of the atts....
