I left my car parked in front of my house today, then left with my friend to go pick up his engine.... 5 minutes later my brother calls me and tells me to get back, because this had happened:





The guy across the street ran his F150 into the side of my car as he backed out of the driveway (keep in mind my street is wide enough to pull a U w/o having to back up or anything). An adjustor from his insurance is coming to look at it Monday, and hopefully I can get it to a shop either that day or Tuesday. Thank goodness this is my spring break, crappy as it may be

Looks like I'll be driving a rental car back to school. Damage appears to be localized to the door only (outer panel, mirror, shattered window, inner door panel broken in one spot, and the door lock mechanism is acting up, not to mention the entire door is misaligned).

And I got a speeding ticket about 2 miles from my house I was heading home from school for spring break. Yeah, this sucks.

I'd either try and get a new door, or MAYBE give the dent wizard a call, just to see if there's anything they can do... they work magic sometimes.

That's one huge dent. Well at least it seems to be only in the door. What kind of rental did you get?

 

Depending on the depth of the damage they might only replace the door skin. Although i could be wrong. Saw and Integra and CRV at work with bad door dents like that and they just replaced the skin.

Prolly just depends on car and insurance though.

 

don't let them "fix" your door, tell them you demand to have the door replaced

4real though its prolly best to replace. Saw a few door skins replaced and it wasnt too pretty. Windows didnt want to work right now matter how much work.

nah, don't make a scene unless you have to. first tell them you want the whole door replaced, and if they tell you they can't, tell them it's BS blah blah blah, and that you know you can have the door replaced wtc, and that's what you want done

put it this was, in like 1988 or 89 my mom had an 87 BMW 325i, she bought it brand new, and HER mother back into the passenger side door, they told her the only thing they could do was fix it, and my mom raised hell, and they put a whole new door on it.

That sucks forsure but look on the bright side that it was only your door that got hit and not your front fender, cause that would of most likely messed up your hood as well. Also at least they didnt hit the back. Sucks man, I hope all goes well for you!
