Any truth to CRX seats being made by Recaro? Possibly the 88 JDM crx SI-R seats?

i dunno if they say it anywhere, but the seats you got from me ARE made by Recaro

 

The 88-91 CRX SI seats are made by Recaro. The Civic SI seats were also designed by Recaro. Honda has some deal with them, not sure how it works, but most Honda models (especialy the Sport versions IE: Civic Si/SiR, Integra Type R, RSX ect) have Recaros in them when they are still just concept cars. If you go to things like the Pacific Auto Show ect you can see this. When the RSX still was just in the Car Expos and not on the showroom floor yet, it had Blue Recaros in it at the shows. The CRX SI Recaros are exactly the same as the Recaro Tour seat from that year, just with a diffrent material on it. Not sure why but I think this is the only Honda to ever keep the seats when it became a production model. The Civic SI seats were based on a Recaro design, and then produced by Honda themselves Im pretty sure. This is all just from reading Ive done, but Im POSITIVE the CRX si seats are real Recaros.

 

Not sure about the RSX's, but I've heard time and time again, CRX si and ITR seats are made by recaro.

 

Yeah I dont think the RSX uses the Recaros now that its in prduction, but when it was a concept it did. Also what about the Del Sol seats? Ive never took a good look at them, but Id assume they are a Recaro design as well.

i have read that the 4G civic and 2G CRX SIR's are in fact designed and made by recaro, but dont have any ytpe of logo in them.... like someone else said honda and recaro has a deal going on

 

Tight, so I guess we've all got seats designed by recaro! What kinda material were the recaro Tour seats made of?

 

I'm pretty sure they are recaro's in the RSX.......If not directly made by recaro, at least designed by them.... My roommate has an RSX and love the seats. Very comfortable and wrap around you. If not recaro they are still very good seats

Yeah I was talking about USDM seats.

 

Turn over any set of '88-91 CRX Si seats and you'll find a Recaro sticker underneath. CRX DX seats are pretty much the same, only without the open headrests and upholstered in a different material.

'89-91 Civic Si seats are very similar, and I could have sworn they also had Recaro stickers on them . . .

 

Where do you find the sticker at? If there's really a sticker that's factory, I can win a lil lunch money off my roomates! HAHAH!

 

this is true i had a pair of recaros forgot the name but they were in a 280z and had recaro fabric the middle lhad recaro all across it is what i mean and looked just like the crx seats but had some sorta web in the middle of the headrest opening

 

del sol and s2k seats were also designed by recaro
