When did you guys replace Rotors and Brake pads?
My Brakes are starting to sqweek......I have about 42k miles.....never tracked the car. How do i determine if i need to change the rotors? Can i still use the stock rotors with new pads? Did a search but didn't help much.....Thanks
Which pads should i go with.......Lookin for pads for everday driving.

I need to change out my front rotors and pads. The rotors are warped and cracked.
I feel like a NASCAR race driver when I hit the brakes at high speed....

Fronts were toasted at mid 20's along with rotors, so I had them cut. The rears made it to 36K.
And now I have Axxis Ultimates all around, and they have a very positive stop. but I think they still need to bed in a little more.

It's a good rule of thumb to change either rotors or pads, but not both at the same time.
If 'only' the pads need replacing (like it would seem in this guy's case), then the above is ok.
But my mechanic - who has raced both an ITR & S2K here in Australian GTP - advised to also change pads, when changing rotors (particularly if not using the same type/brand of rotors again!); as it allows the rotor to 'bed-in' cleanly (with no left over residues) and ensures that rotors are not effected by old pads (which could be unevenly worn or glazed)!!

In my ITR's 3 year life.... I've changed pads 3 times since OEM pads and only just changed my front discs/rotors after 80K miles & 12 track days!!

If this is your first change of brake pads, I can assure you that there is no need to change the rotors.
When I changed my pads for the first time, I also needed to change the rotors, and the car has never been "tracked."
Thanks for the replys..........This will be the first time changing pads. I think i'm just going to get the OEM pads because they last a long time and I have no need for performance brakes because I don't plan on tracking her. The $25 rotors are they the autozone ones? Do we now have the correct part numbers for these rotors? I did a search and no one was really sure as to the correct part numbers for all four. Anyone recommend the autozone rotors?

My OE set was dead at ~10,000 miles... I am currently on my 5th set of front rotors.
I replaced my stock fronts at ~5-6k, then the second set of fronts at 10k, then third at 20-25k (not sure anymore), then a set in the 30s, then a set at expo and a set since then. I think that's all the fronts. actually maybe two sets since expo. I don't remember anymore since they are so cheap.
second set of rear rotors.
car has 64k on it.

How are stock pads when you do HPDE's?
I'm planning on doing my first 2 this summer, and I need new pads now.
Are aftermarket ones noticeably better?

Does anyone have the correct part number for the rear? I tried searching but couldn't come up with the correct part number for the rear. Thanks
Fronts 95 Acura Legend 4-door sedan LE/SE model = #048731 3296 = $24.99 each.
