Somthing I learned today about GSR cams vs Type R
I did a Type R cam swap in my GF's 98 GSR today and I found somthing out hasn't been taked about much. When I lifted the cams out to compare them to the Type R cams I was alittle shocked to see what looked like Type R cams already in the car!! How could this be? She got the car from a dealer and it was a leased return.
After looking at them close the only thing I that was different was on the raised ring there was two grooves in the GSR on and on large groove in the Type R cams

The cams I put in the GSR looked like the first ones in this chart.

Actually, that is what GSR cams look like. They aren't R cams. That is how you distinguish between the 2 cams. The raised part is what is different
So the cams I have pictured there are GSR's they are what I pulled out of my GF's GSR today and in place of them I put Type R cams (95-00 ITR cams in the pic)
But when I first looked at the GSR one I didn't see the grooves in the raised ring at the end of the cam. So this pic is wrong:
