Default Troubleshooting HID --- MTK, Pat, HID people...come one come all.

Alright -- Today I was putting in my HID's, and I broke off one of the little tabs that you stick into the socket (the ground tab). I tried to solder it back on, however, I dont think it is working.
What happens is, I turn on the lights...the HID light turns on immediately, then immediately goes off. Ive tried both ballasts on the one light, and they both work. I actually had this bulb plugged in and working, then I pulled it out to rearrange the wiring, and thats when I broke the tab.

What do you guys think I could do to get this working?

Thanks so much,
robbie

the kit that i have requires the ballast to be grounded. (the actual physical casing) did you move yours?

Hmm. Well Ive had both ballasts working on that one side....the other bulb stays lit completely. On both ballasts (while Im holding them in my hand). Im almost 100% sure it has to do with the plug...eek.

Thanks though...any other ideas?

if the HID comes on, then shuts off..that sounds like u blew the 10A fuse.. put in 20's then turn them back on..they should stay on

Fuses are fine. I put 20's in already. Try again.

LOL! I just barely heard one of those MP3's of her and Bubb.

Maybe after you soldered it back on, it came off again? Did you double check everything's wired and connected properly?
