Ok, my dad just got back from the junkyard and a nice looking 1989 Prelude just arrived and he said it had a b20a5 engine. We could probably get this engine for 50 bucks or so, and I was wondering if it would be a good purchase and a good project to do. Would it be worthwhile or a waste? Any info is welcome.

 

sorry, i meant swapping the engine in my car and putting on a vtec head. is it just like any ole B Series swap?

 

i hear its got those composite sleeves in it so it would have to be completely resleeved if you put in after market pistons. Thats about all i know

 

I think it has a shitty rod-stroke ratio to begin with. It's the bastard child of the other B series...

 

yeah it's completely different than any other B20. plus with the way it tilts, it'd never clear your hoodline.

 

Yep, one of the worst honda motors ever. Don't bother, unless you need a new boat anchor.
