Cylinder not firing- have spark, any help?
Howdy fellas! I'm havin some troubles with my ma's '91 civic standard...It has what I believe to be a 1.5 litre dual-port injection motor (it's REALLY slow), and lately has not been running on all four cylinders. After replacing wires and plugs, I've determined that number 3 (or is it 2? Third one from the left if you're looking the car head on..) is not firing, but IS getting spark. Needless to say, the motor runs like crap.
So i've ruled out everything regarding ignition, because the plug isn't fouled and I've got spark coming from the wire...this led me to believe it could be a dirty or f-ed up injector, but, alas, this car does not have an injector for each intake runner like my BMW does.
So...does anyone have any leads as to why this cylinder isn't firing? I'm gonna pick up a compression tester today to make sure the piston isn't just shot (if the rings were bad, it would foul out the plug, right?), but I'd love any kind of info that you guys can send my way.
I'm not really a "honda guy" but I certainly appreciate them (and would own a GS-R if I wasn't quite so poor).
Sorry for the long post...

If you got spark, then you got fire bro,
How do you know your not getting spark?
On dpfi, you get fuel to all cylinders, theres not an injector for each one, they get what they suck in, knaw mean?
What do you mean your not running on all 4 cylinders?
Give me a few more symptoms, and let me know what kind of modifications and tests you have done..

Thanks man, I'll clarify a bit.
I AM getting spark for all 4 cylinders...I've tested the end of each plug wire with the motor turning over, and no plugs are fouled. The engine is BONE stock (this is my mom's car here...)
The weird thing is, unplugging the plug wire for that #3 (or is it #2?) doesn't do anything...i.e. motor is running, unplug wire #1- car runs like absolute hell, reconnect, unplug #2- same, unplug #3- doesn't affect how the motor runs at all. (keep in mind the motor runs like **** with everything as it should be.)
So...what I gather is that the #3 cylinder is getting spark, but is not firing, which makes me assume it isn't getting fuel somehow...this made me think there was something wrong with the #3 injector, but, as you noted and I've found out, there aren't 4 injectors on dpfi. So now what? Clogged intake runner? Bad piston ring?
I realize this post is incredibly convoluted, lemme know and I can try and explain anything else the best I can...I just wanna get my mom back on the road with more than 10hp. (although I have been sourcing some cheap b16a's, just might have to do some more research on that...
)
Thanks so much for any kind of help you guys can offer!

There used to be a tool that you touch to the outside jacket of your plug wire and it lit up if there was energy there. It was like $15 at the auto parts store. Then you can use a mechanics stethoscope or maybe even a long screwdriver to touch to the injectors one at a time to listen if they are working or not. You'll hear a high pitched sound if they're working.
