Anyone going to the autocrosses this weekend at firebird?

 

My buddy is trying to get me to go. But I've never done it before and so I'm not sure what to expect. I don't have an R.....but I do have a 150+whp LS so if I do go hopefully I won't be too far behind.

What time is it at?

Reg fees?
....and I need to buy a helmet, pronto.

there is also a track event/hpde/racing at the new Arizona Motorsports Park and there is also an autox in tucson....

i will be at AMP on sat....maybe at firebird on sunday

Did you make it? I was there all day, don't think I saw you.
From now on, all Phoenix region auto-xes will be held at AMP on a skid pad twice the size of the one at Firebird Third gear, here I come!

All you guys who bitch about no speed (Dan, Jeff, Bobby...) at auto-xes should check out the new venue.

And I'll be at AMP both days (but only running on Sun.), so I'll see you guys there.

 

Hey Chad, are you instructing this weekend? I'm gonna be running on Sat so if you are and don't have students lined up, maybe you could ride along with me for a session or 2. Wouldn't mind a lil' instruction now and then!

Hmm ... seems like a lot of people running on Sun. Wonder if I should sign up for that as well ...

merv, im doing both days, free ride alongs on sat if you wanna get the edge on the others who are only doing sunday. Mark, havnt heard from you in a while, how are the auto x's going? glad to see your gona be running with the big boys on sunday.

 

Hey Jeff, I'm signed up to drive Sat so I'm good on the edge part But I'm considering running on Sun as well since everyone I know seems to be picking that day to drive ... You guys really like driving on Sun huh? If not, I might show up for rides then. I'm also signed up for ASRA's 3/29 event at AMP.

 

Yeah Merv, you def need to show up the second day as well!

I'll be there on the 29th too, but with NASA-X (their 1st event). I'll be sure to stop by and say hi.

 

too bad it rained on sunday. got a litttle muddy..

 

yeah it was even fun in the rain.....i bet my lap times from dry to wet are within 2 seconds of each other....i bet i may even be faster in some turns in the wet!

 

definitely a fun day! Anybody know the paint code for "mud n dust brown" for my wheels? I kinda liked it

I didn't get a chance to make either event. Work stuff came up at the last minute the first weekend and I was in Lake Havasu this past weekend. I really want to try one of these out. I'm planning on going to one on April 13th at AMP, unless there is one before then. Not really looking forward to trying to hitting to hitting 3rd gear on the lame *** LS tranny.

I was supposed to run at AMP on Sunday, but I got in an accident Sat night Oh well there will always be other events.
