Default Engine swap into a 1988 Accord Lxi Coupe

Hi,
I was wondering what kind of engines I could fit into a 1988 Accord Lxi Coupe. I am looking to buy one with high miles for cheap and it might need a new engine, so while i was at it I wanted to put a better one than the one that comes stock. can I put in a 4th gen accord motor such as a F20A or a F22A6 into this 3rd gen accord?

what about your tranny? electronic stuff?
they are used for that much miles too right?
Honda engine pretty much can handle 200000
with very little problems..

I dont get why you want to downgrade your f23 to f22?
i mean you always can swap in the h22a..
f23a1 and a4 are dirt cheap mang..looks around

well so are the f22 and there isnt that big of a diff in the motors..

f22 has a hella lot more aftermarket support..

haha...where did an F23 come into play anyways??? His stock motor is an A20A3, so any F series motor would be an upgrade. I don't know of anyone who has swapped an F motor into a 3rd gen, or even if it's doable without alot of $$$, like the H22. B series are the easiest, cuz they make the mounts and wiring harnesses for the swap. Then there's always the option of just building up the A20....
