Paint job
I'm going to be getting my teg repainted soon and i'd like to get some opinions on paint. I'm going to keep it white but what do you guys think is the best looking white out there?? So far i'm thinking of a pearl white, i'm told that depending on the way you look at it there appears to be a rainbow tint to the white paint. Any other opinions??
Pearl white is nice. If you really want a nice white, get Championship White. This is the color that came on the Type-R's until they changed it to Yellow and Black. Taffeta white is another stock Integra color that looks nice.

A few questions. Is there anything wrong with the paint you got on now? Are you looking for a new paint job, or just want to paint your car pearl white?
Either case. Here is what I would do.
Do some research. I would first visit a hot rod show. Pick a nice looking 57 Chevy and talk to the owner. Ask them where they got their car painted? What to look out for? Do did the shop to? Do they block sand? Do they wet sand? How many times? How much does it cost? Is the paint guy a car guy?
Why? you ask? Because nothing shines with perfection like a classic 57 Chevy (example). Most of them know where the best paint pros are. They paint with perfection and it's a art form. Not some guy who got out of jail and can aim a pint gun, which need a job. Those paint jobs will not last. I've seen way too many pearl paints (and etc) that look like crap after a few years. Don't be one of them. Do it right.
P.S. The reason why I say go to a "Hot Rod" show instead of an Import Show, is because the cars in the Import shows is just a trend, they don't need to last. In the Hot Rod tour, they spend big $$$$ to restore their cars. Some of those paint jobs can cost up to $10,000. Once they are done restoring their cars, it will most likely never need to be painted again.

I'm going to have it repainted because there are scratches and dents that i'm getting taken care of, and there's some minor surface rust i want to get rid of. As for the car show idea, i think i'll do that this coming weekend, theres usually always some kind of old car show around here.

Just some food for thought...I originally wanted pearl white but neglected to go that route for that very same reason. I went with the Taffeta white and looks really nice. Here is a pic.
