Honda-Challenge Rollcage specifications -
Good afternoon all,
Dont read into this too much, but is there a place that will have the Honda-Challenge rollcage specifications that I could look into? Along with perhaps a more general page with cage design (I remember two, one done by a gent with a M3, another showing the buildup of a silver 1st gen crx). Lets just say its a project for work..

The NASA CCR has what you are looking for.
The national HC rules allow cages beyond what is in the CCR, though a cage like that is not legal for much outside of HC.

Thanks fellas - I have printed out the CCR this morning. SPiff, I have the Honda Challenge rulebook and it dosent exactly specify what above and beyond the CCR is allowed - with regards to number of points, attachement locations, etc.. I have tried searching around both sites but cannot find anything regarding this.
Thanks,
ceas..
Thanks,

There is nothing the the 2003 ECHC rules as we are using on IT legal cages per the CCR. The National HC rules have the follwing:
4.9 Roll Cage
All cage requirements found in the NASA CCR must be met except for the following: 1) Any number of mounting points may be used. 2) Any number of tubes may be used, even for chassis stiffening. 3) Any size mounting plate may be used but must conform to material and minimum specification in NASA CCR. 4) Two (2) forward cage braces per side (total of four) may pass through the firewall and connect at no more than two points in the engine compartment (i.e. strut tower or frame). 5) Tubes may be welded at any contact point, or even be seam welded. If modification number 4 or 5 above is utilized, an additional 30lb weight penalty will apply. Any tubes that are added shall be inspected for safety reasons. Any tube deemed to be a hazard to the driver must be removed.

Penetration of firewall and unlimited cage attachment points. Those are the National rules for everyone but Virginia region and VA will take them in 2004. Read rulebooks carefully, and then read them again...when you're done with the second pass read them a third time.
I'll take this opportunity toremind everyone that honda-tech.com is not an official "place to ask questions about honda challenge racing," because these threads, unfortunately, often become shouting matches. No, I'm not kidding.
