Have you ever heard of a motor having more power in a different car?
This seems to be my experience. My B20 feels like it has quite a bit more power in my 1989 STD HB than it did in my 1988 STD HB. And I have to wonder why. After all, weight is identical between the two (no door seatbelts on 1989 HBs). But could it be something else? A stronger fuel pump on the 1989? Some sort of wiring problem on the 1988? Or maybe a hidden cache of 200 pounds of cocaine somewhere from use as a drug runner by a previous owner? Who knows. Has anyone experienced something like this?

could be any of the things you said...also could be the timing of your motor in both cars...time of year you have the car installed...have you ran at sac raceway or any autox/track event to get hard numbers?
sort of had the same thing happen with a zc motor that i had. first i had it in my 89 dx hatch. it wasnt runnin right cuz the guys that put my zc in had 2 wires backwards and they didnt know it. so then my bro and i the zc in his crx and it was way faster cuz it was wired right......ggggrrrrrrr. so then my freind bought the zc from me and we swaped it into his 90 dx hatch and it doesnt seem to be as fast as the crx was. i know that the crx is lighter but not by much. but hey who knows
i assume the intake and exhaust was the same for both cars?
