Default help in choosing the right turbo/turbo kit

Im going to be boosting my 96 ex soon. I went down to my local shop and they showed me about 8 different kits. the performance im looking for is a reliable setup and has little to no turbo lag at all. I would like boost to come on like 2500-3000. Please help me out in picking the turbo and even a kit that will give me the performance I want. Also how much boost can I run without an intercooler.

thanks guys

Well greddy kits will prolly be the fastest for spooling, but on the downside they wont put as much power down...

do a search and im sure you'll find tons of info on individual kits on this board...

i have been researching the greddy kit and have read reviews. they say that the Greddy kit doesnt come into boost until like 4000-4500. leaving me only like 3000 left in my powerband. Would a custom built turbo (A/R, Exhaust) help with my dilema

SOHC Greddy kit comes with a 15G turbo..
that turbo is pretty small so it spools fast..

I think you were reading about DOHC Greddy kit which comes with 18G.
with 15G you should be in boost by 3000rpm

There is no such thing as a turbo kit with no lag. LIttle lag yes, but no lag.. sorry. If you dont' want lag, you should look into something like a JRSC. But of all the kits, I have been told that the Greddy spools the fastest.

Okay, so im convinced that Greddy is the way to go. Is there blue box good enough to wire in and be able to drive the car everyday, or do I have to upgrade fuel pump and fuel pressure regualtor. any help would be appreciated

Hondata is a great investment. Not only will it be more realible, but you will get more power once you get it tuned.

More power+realibility(compared to blue box anyway) = go for it man.

Spend a little to gain a lot.

that's just my opinion though.
