can anybody recommend a good muffler for my 85 crx si? im at the point where even I think its a little loud. i just had a resonator welded in hopefully that does the trick. but if not i need to find a good muffler for 2.5" piping that fairly quiet and has good performance qualities. any suggestions?

Exactly. I have a MagnaFlow muffler (ES Oval look) painted flat black.

i wouldnt necessarily recomend flowmaster, but they make pretty good stuff, but you pay for the name primarily.....magnaflow is a great brand, i had good luck with a dynomax muffler once too.....sounded amazingly good.

Whats a good price for one of these? Im gonna go with one cuz I've heard so many good things about it in alot of other posts too. Would it be noticably more restrictive than a straight pipe with 2 cherry bomb resonators?

 

damn I was checkin out dynomax's site and this is what I see for the Super Turbo.. "100% aluminized for sharp appearance and long life."

Wont that rust out? Thats definately not what Im looking for.

 

IMO I don't really like magnaflow just because a friend of mine has one on his accord and its very farty, it might be the piping or the style of muffler but I'm not a huge fan of the sound, I personally would go w/ the real ES oval w/ custom piping from a muffler shop or I've heard the Apex'i World Sport is very quiet, slightly louder then stock, but sounds good

 

when i had my ultra Flo I used High temp exhaust/header paint...I also runa magnaflo SS now..ultra flo was great but i sold it and got acanister..which is why i have magnaflo now...didnt want make it sound like dynomax is or is not better than magnaflo
