anyone painted their skirting on their accord to match the color of the car?
I want to know if you have alot of problems with scratches after painting the black skirting that goes around the accord? i have seen a few of them and they look good, but i was just concerned about chips and how bad it gets from daily driving?
I have'nt had much problems with my skirts getting scratched because the skirt sits higher then the underside of my car. I've had them painted now for over 6 years.
I had mine painted. I have not had a problem with chips but I do have a couple of scratches from where I curbed it.
The guy that painted mine said that a chip resistant primer( I can't remember what he called it) has to be used or else any little chip or scratch would cause large sections of paint to flake off.

good prep work and good(flex, extra impact/temp protection) paint will last you a long time.
Mine hold up just fine.

Painted the skirts on my 96 accord during the summer and they still look good. Like everyone else said, good prep and good paint is the key.
