Default Are Koni Yellow adjustables as good as KYB AGX??????

As the topic says. I am purchasing a set of Koni 2 way adjustables for $300 and I was just wondering are they as good as the KYB AGX or the Tokico Illumna?

What is a KONI two way adjustable? No such thing exists.

There are the externally rebound adjustable KONI Sports that have yellow paint and can be adjusted while on the car. There are the internally rebound adjustable KONI Specials that have orangish red paint (commonlly called "reds") that must be removed from the car to be adjusted or at the time of installation.

New Sports usually sell at about $145 each and the Specials about $77 each. Both are adjustable, are valved as performance dampers although the Special is a little more "comfort " oriented and Sport is obviously more sporty" oriented, and both carry a lifetime warranty against defects and wear out.

No KONI for a Honda has specific clicks or settings of adjustment as they are both infinatley adjustable anywhere within the large adjustment range. From the price you mention, if they are new my guess is that you are talking about KONI Specials. Technically they are of higher quality in design and function than the AGX and the Illumina but they are valved to ride a bit softer and are not externally adjustable on the car. They are also quite a bit cheaper.

There are Koni 2 way adjustables. They is a place (forgot the name) that shortens Koni's for dropped cars. They also make the Koni's 2 way adjustable... yes - 2 seperate ***** with multiple settings.

The place is called KONI North America. Pro=Parts and Truechoise are also authorized to do the service. The term is "double adjustable" meaning that both the rebound and compression are adjustable and the labor cost alone for the conversio is about $1,250 plus the cost of the shocks and there is no need for it on the street. For the $300 he was mentioned, it was obvious that he was not talking about buying double adjustable converted shocks.

AGX's are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to adjustable shocks.. konis and tokicos are better..

I think you guys are missing one important fact: CRXLee WORKS for KONI, and is probably the most knowledgeable guy on shocks (especially in a racing application) you'll find in this neck of the woods. And if your buddy has a blown Koni, as long as he was the original purchaser, has a receipt, and didn't do anything stupid, he can get a free replacement. I did. I would never go from Koni to KYB. In fact, I went the other way.

He's probably referer to the fact that they are rebound adjustable and spring seat adjustable thus 2 ("double") adjustable. Wrong terminology I know.

However, the yellow sports come rebound adjustable externally and the compress and turn variety(I've purchased both, accidently). The reds I thought were not adjustable.
