which of these 2 crx's would you choose
look at each and tell me which crx would you prefer to build up.
1988 yellow si
had previous front end damage, fixed, but all wrinked up metal under the hood behind one headlight
1991 red si
slight damage to the left rear quarter, not too bad, but the quarter seperated from the frame a little and bucked the metal outwards.

1988 si- jdm front end+some body work+paint= light good looking car ready to build for race/street/blahblahblah
1991 si-bent frame can be straightened by a bodyshop, slightly heavier chassis to start with (100 lbs difference from 1988 si i beieve, do a search and find exact values)
i'd go with the 88

i personally like the 88 better because it's lighter and doesn't have door seatbelts.
i'd go with the 88. but also how much are they? and how many miles on each?

If you want looks and amenities I'd get the 91
If you're interested in more performance, as others have said, get the 88
Personally I'd get the 91 since you can repair the quarter panel more easily with bondo (IMO - depends on the damage of course)

I already own both, but I don't realy need two project crx's. the yellow one does seem like a better car with the lighter weight and no door belts.
red has 130k, and has a decent appearence
yellow has 160k, will need a paint job for sure
motor swap in the futrue, so mileage isn't a concern. thanks for your opinions.

Rear discs add a lot of weight and as I learned long ago, a REAR WHEEL drive car only gets 12% of it's braking from the rears. This would be even less for a FWD.
get the 88, go jdm front, if u are worried about rear discs, they swap right over, and they really dont wieght that much more, if u are concerned about wieght, tell your girl shes fat and get the disc
Pros of discs are ease of maintenance. It took me maybe 30 minuites last time I replaced the rear pads. A power producing swap will more than make up for the extra weight of the Si. Get the Si and do a swap.
yeah, thanks for the good responses. mechanically, the only advantage to the 91 are the rear brakes. I can always swap them to the yellow car before selling the red one if I really wanted them. something to think about.
ID go with the 88 since front end rad support damge can be fixed for a 100 bux plus a lil bit of welding...not hard at all...bondo work sux and most likely has frame damage..even if you fix a bent frame it is still weak since it has been bent and bent back to straight...quarter panel damage is the worst body damge cause its hard as heck to put a new quarter back on..use the 91 for parts or daily driver.
