Default modifying any header with a 2.25" collector to 2.5"???

I read about import builders modifying JG headers to have a 2.5" collecter. My question is, i have DC Sports 4-1 can i have that one modified as well? or is it something to do with JG and it's a secret? tia.

I put a 2.5 collector on my DC 4-2-1 a couple of weekends ago.

Well, I did not have it on with the original collector so I cant compare the two setups. Compared to my cast mani it was like frickin night and day.

Would I do it again in a heartbeat...no. I would do it again in a half of a heartbeat.

EDIT: I would have taken pix, but the camera batts were low and I did not feel like waiting for new ones.

The 4-1 is harder to do than a 4-2-1. It does help, and can be done.

it's free. so is it even worth being free? I'm not gonna build some track monster anyway. i have a few other cars for that. i just wanted to know if it's free, will it be worth our time to attempt it, or should i just out a high flow cat or straight pipe?

In order to maximize the performance of the high flow cat and straight pipe, you need to get a header. I would get it no matter what...cause its free. Hell if someone offered me a Chikara (sp?) header for free...I would take it.

As far as it being harder is probably due to the fact that you have 4 pipes merging into one. By the time you cut the header back enough to accept a 2.5" collector, you will have 4 individual pipes weld to that 2.5" collector. It will take some creativity.

ok no i'm confused. I have seen them make turbo manifolds and other 4-1 collector things...so i know they can do it. now should I? i have ITR cat back 2.25" so is it worth (the roubtle to build it) it still?

It's easier to shape a 2.5 pipe to a two pipe merge than it is a 4 pipe merge. yes you should do it. Ignore acidfreak it's a inside thing Mufflers are useless my lil sister has one. Headers are worth it she doesn't have one of those, i guess she not as cool as Joe's sis
