Default HKS T51R on a b-series 2 Liter. Is it possible?

Discuss.

This is all the information that I could find on this turbo. If someone can find a compressor map for a garrett t51, that would be great.

Here it is next to a 3.5" Floppy.

If you can read japaneese
http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/...t51r/t51r.html

HKS T51R SPL BB 56T A/R 1.00

Trim entrance diameter (mm) 56
Major diameter (mm) 76.5
Entrance diameter (mm) 102.2

Because the ball bearing bearing whose resistance is little in
comparison with conventional type is used, until largest supercharging
pressure time 11% not only has been compacted, transient property of
center substantially improvement.

Some info I found on the Garrett T51

This is why I want to see a t51 on a honda.

Listen to this thing spool.

I believe FFgeoff is running or knows someone running this turbo with his Full Race manifold. He should know something about it. That thing really screams.

1) Something pretty cool here is that if you look very closely at the compressor inlet, there are 2 inlets. The new full-race turbos have the same style compressor housing, these second inlets increase the efficiency TREMENDOUSLY.

2) I have the old style t51r on a setup i built for modern garage at :
http://www.full-race.com/moderngarage/

this new style is using more modern technologies. Im sad to see someone beat us to the punch with these compressor housings, but we might as well get beat by HKS

a 60-1 cant compare to this style turbo. A 60-1 will blow hotter air, less efficinetly and wont flow as much air. This 6 bladed compressor will spank a 60-1. However these are 2400$+++ turbos.

well not only does this one have the surge inlet, but it has the ring that goes around the compressor wheel. As far as i know, one company has a patent on it, and since turbonetics is using garret stuff, they cant do it... ive seen the turbonetics with the surge inlet, but not the second inlet.

This isn't for me.

I only have a 1.6L

After I seen that picture of the HKS turbo on the k-series motor and after hearing my friends supra with the t51. I wanted to know if us Honda users could use it.

I was looking at buying a HKS T51R and i at one time had a compressor map of it. If i remember correctly if flowed 83lbs min. Considering that a T66 P trim tops out at 73lbs min you can imagine you nice this turbo is. Spool up is a little slow but bearable on a race car. Its popular with the Supra guys check some of their websites like T04R.com

If you look at this picture, the FP30 also has the surge ports and ring. http://www.forcedperformance.net/ima...p3065_3055.jpg And the owner of FP says that its something that has been around for a couple of years now in deisel applications.

we actually just got some of these intercooler cores in.. very hard to get our hands on, from garrett.
dimensions are 24x12x3
heres some pics:

edit: price is $499 shipped with endtanks and 2.5" or 2.25" in/out
only got 5 of them. this will be the last of these garrett coolers, before we get our pwr stuff.

Ryan, you ricer, I like the loud one (I know they don't have that smiley) . Who the hell would this be for now?

Wouldn't bigger turbos be louder? Or does the loudness have less to do with size boost pressure and the amount of air moved, and more to do with that a T-51 just seems to be the right size to really scream?

Also, on precision turbo's web site, it states a horsepower that the turbos will support. Is that the maximum as in "the thing really will not flow more" or is that a maximum as in "thats as much power as it will make within it's effecency range".

Just FYI, I don't blame you I would want louder too. The only factor that makes me want quiet is that loud=power and if someone thinks your car is crazy fast, they won't want to race you(yes for money).

Just cause you like how something sounds doesn't make you a ricer. You could like how top fuel dragsters sound. They sound that way because thats how the most horsepower they can possibly make sounds like. Were not putting a 6" muffler on a 2" exhaust and likeing it cause we think it sounds mad tite yo .
