Default Opinion on portable tv/dvd

I've been looking into purchasing a tv/dvd indash player for my car. Recently I went to Best Buy and notice that they have those little portable tv/dvd players. They are a lot cheaper in price, for good quality. And I could mount it on top of the dash with some vilcro or something so when I leave my car I would be able to take it with me.
What is everyones opinion on doing this? any negative thoughts?

I am just the type of guy that likes a factory look. You strap too many boxes here and there and things start looking disorderly. IMHO anyway.

i though about it myself. i wanted to dismantle one so the screen will be mounted on the lower dash and the player inside the glove compartment.

lol. Just get a cardboard box and cut some holes in it and set it on the pass. seat.
But seriously Alpine makes a nice deck that has all that built in. That'd be kewl, lotta dough though. You could do a stalk mount type of unit. I know you can buy stalks from many places out there. Then you could point it towards you. I still think just having a whole computer in the car would be boss.
