Cool idea, but for 30k without HID or a/c, there are too many other options. What would they have to do to the car for it to be US legal? Change the cat?

No they don't, they just bring European market LHD cars over. They are Registered Importers and the reason they charge so much is because it costs a lot of money to legalize a non-US Market car for legitimate use in the US, and that's the service they are providing. EI has sold a lot of Evo 7's in Cali and elsewhere, they are very reputable.

I'd actually rather wait until the Sti comes here in the next month or two. Sounds like everyone's gonna be wanting the USDM verion instead of the other way around. Only North America is going to be getting the 2.4 liter engine. The rest of the world will be getting the 2.0. Bwwuuuuaaaahhhhhhaaaa!!

Having a DC5R would be cool but I'd rather get the new Evo 8. Turbo, AC, and much easier to sell legit if you want to get rid of it.

Nope, the new cars aren't different in that aspect.

I heard the 2.5L blows up. I talked to some of the guys from over there before. Why pay 35k for an evo with dealer charges. They were selling me a JDM one for 34k but a 12 week wait.

I might buy an Evo 7 from them for 28k!...i think i might put the deposit this week...they have a skyline for 21k..but not street legal and 51,000 miles.

The 2.5l blowing up? I was talking about the Subaru Sti, is that what you were talking about? And I thought it was a 2.4 liter? Where did you hear they were blowing up? I thought they weren't even out yet. Not contradicting you I just haven't kept up with the latest news.

I don't know where you are but here you can get them for sticker...and I think sticker is closer to $32K than to $35K. Evo's will sell well but I think everyone is waiting for the Sti first to make a decision. There's dealers here that don't even have the first shipment reserved yet.

Just FYI evolution imports is buying that skyline from a company in Florida for only $16,500. If you buy it for $21,500 they are making $5k in profit.

Point being........they gotta make money too.

I was considering getting a euro spec Evo. May still be worth it because they have the AYC/ACD. A dealer around here assured me he'd be selling the EVO 8 for msrp which is supposed to be right @ a couple hundred over 30k. Right now the EVO 8 gets my vote as my second vehicle.

The US Sti is gonna be a crap load of money. I'm not paying 35k + (Because they will be limited) it.

I dont like the American Evo or the EVO 8. The evo 8 is cheesy. I rather have the EVO 7. Alot of EVO 8 in america are being marked up 5k!....their evo is an RS 300+ horses...Ok guys companies need to make profits I dont want the skyline! just to let you guys know im going after the evo 7. The evo 8 has the ugly frotn bumper and cheesy tail lights. Its also american spec not as powerful. Alot of turbo charged 2.4 RS or 2.5 blow up. The motor is basicly the same with lower comp. Not too many WRX have over 400 horses keep that in mind. Alot more DSM with 400+.

The mark up on the current EVO VIII is 10k. I just went to the dealership and that's what they think they can get. 40k.

sales manager-"this car beats out the current m3 in every aspect!"
