Default hyper medallion question

Okay, here I am again asking about an exhaust. I searched but couldn't find any good info specific to the ITR. I'm facing the age old problem of upgrading my exhaust without getting too loud. I have a jrsc (8 psi), so I would like to go up to a true 2.5", but it looks like anything that anyone calls "quiet" is only 60mm. That's not much of a jump from the stock ITR, but I'm looking to reduce the bottlenecks and have a slightly more free-flowing muffler. So is there anyone out there running the Tanabe hyper medallion on their ITR? Does it make much more power than stock? How loud is it compared to the stock?

Also does anyone have a suggestion for a quiet true 2.5"?

BTW I have a kamikaze header with the 2.5" collector that I'm going to have installed with the new catback. I think I may have to get a special cat to hook them up, but I'm waiting to see what I buy.

Thanks for any help.

Isn't the hyper medallion 60mm and is not straight through? I believe the design is similar to the Apexi world sport.

type 1 Racing? i hear it has no bottlenecks and the new design is apparantly pretty quiet. Also maybe Hytek? most systems are designed to bolt onto the stock system, so they will typically have a taper where it joins. Tanabe, APEXi, etc. are all designed for the mainstream and all will have bottlenecks to fit the stock exhaust and to sell more. However, APEXi claims to purposely design the exhaust with a tapered design for more power.
