Sound Deadening
Did a search, but I didn't find an answer to my questions.
I am looking to do some sound deadening in my 99 Civic and I was looking at the following @ b-quiet.com
Dynamat Exterme (I can get a trunk kit for $100)
B-Quiet Extreme
and B-Quiet Brown Bread
I'm going to buy it in bulk, basically enough for 2 cars. Is B-Quiet Brown Bread that much better than B-Quiet Extreme? Is the difference really noticeable? How about B-Quiet vs Dynamat or Brown Bread vs. Dynamat?
Which would you pick and why.
For cost purposes: I can pickup the Dynamat (36 sq. feet) for $100
Brown Bag costs (35 sq feet) 94.99 plus shipping
B-Quiet costs (50 sq feet) 84.99 plus shipping
Thanks.

You can buy stuff for roofing called "Ice Guard" at lowes. It is made of the same stuff and cost $100 for ~250ft^2.
I have heard it does give off an odor and your car will need to air out for a few days.

Yup ice guard/peel & seel is some stinky ****. It works though.
If you want to steer clear of the "matting" style sound deadener, then you might look into VB-1 made by cascade. It's a putty like substance that you paint onto your target areas. It's supposedly easier to apply and you can put it on as thick as you want. When it's dry your panels will be rock solid.

on any panel that resonates, or on any "hollow" sounding panel in car.
get a test disc that has sine wave sweeps on it.
play it and any panel that rattles, take it off and put some dynamat on it.

Noober said it right.
In the hatch, concentrate on the spare tire well, your 1/4 panel area, and right where your front speakers are (the midrange).

I used RAAMmat on my Civic. http://www.raamaudio.com/products.htm
It was a nobrainer at the time because he was offering a special (which he always does), and I picked up about 170ft^2 for $100. I used the original, but now there is also a thicker version. The original worked fine for me, and is exactly the same as Dynamat extreme.

If restricted to the list above I would guy whatever will give you the most coverage for the money. Ft^2 X mils.
Link?
http://www.google.com - enter cascade vb-1 ---> that's about all you need!
Brown Bread is VERY VERY VERY stuff.
I bought 35 sq ft, and used that up....and then decided to buy more
I've got about 70 sq ft in my car now, in my '92 CX....and Let me tell you..the thing is as quiet inside as a Lexus.
I've used Cascade, Dynamat, all of it...I'll never use anything but Brown Bread again.
RaamMat is great stuff too. My bro uses it

Yes. Problem?
It took longer for you to post, then wait for someone to reply then to just search yourself....
That's fine, added to my post count I guess...no hard feelings.

I just figured since you know about it you would have a link handy and know the cheapest place to get it. Much quicker than me searching for that.
to get information from someone who has done a search and is willing to tell you bad/good results and the where to...how to...who to...and why to!
