OBDII detuning fuel pressure changes
How's it going guys. I picked up a FPR and was planning to install before I read some sites stating that OBDII ecu equiped vehicles will detune changes to the fuel pressure increase. I'm sure this is true to some extent but the literature that I read states that it will make the fpr/increase in fuel pressure completely useless. I never knew this was true...and I don't completely believe it either. So my question to you guys w/ fpr and higher pressures is... exactly what will happen. Will I be able to tune the fpr without the ecu detuning it? Thanks a bunch.
if the ecu sees that its running rich during part throttle conditions, it will
adjust the fuel mixture by a certain percentage. it will then apply that percentage
to the wot fuel trim as well. contrary to popular belief, OBD1 does this too.
I think OBD2 does it a bit more aggressively though.
