What should I do for the upcoming Auto X season??
I would like to do some tweaking to my Type R for Auto X this year while staying in DS.
Shocks
I have Koni singles at both ends.
I would like to be able to adjust the rears a little more easily. Also would like stiffer settings at both ends (compression). Should I just get my konis revalved or is there something better out there, that is not a coil over.
Wheels
I have a set of Millenia Rims, but need to get another set. What other rims are out there in a 6"?
Exhaust
Mostly looking save some weight here vs. stock setup.
Any recommendations are appreciated.
Thanks
Shawn

talk to truechoice or proparts about revalving the konis.....
unless you want to spend alot of money, stick with stock ITR or millenia wheels. The other options are going to get expensive.
Exhaust - probably save alot of weight there.
Play with alignment settings too.

If you want to spend some money on a really nice exhaust, call SMSP - there are quite a few East Coast people using his parts. If you don't mind the noice, just have a straight pipe built and stick a SuperTrapp diffuser pack on the end for street use.
I had a SuperTrapp on my R. Cheap, light, and somewhat tuneable.
If you haven't got a good autocross alignment, do that. Also, if you aren't running 225's up front, it might be worth a try. I ran 225's in the front and had good luck with that setup.
As an FYI, from the old ITRCA site, here is a past G Stock champ's (David Fauth) setup:
- Custom-valved, non-gas, single-adjustable KONI shocks
- Carbotech Kelated-Metallic (Green) front brake pads
- H&R 5mm wheel spacers front and rear
- Kumho 225/50-15(F) & 205/50-15(R) on stock ITR wheels
- Custom exhaust (non-mandrel bent) from cat. back to 2-chamber
- Custom autocross alignment
- Flowmaster muffler exhaust (get a heat shield on top of the Flowmaster or you risk a fire in your trunk! It runs REALLY hot!)
- Comptech reusable foam air filter replacement
- Valvoline Synthetic oil in engine
- Valvoline Synthetic brake fluid
- Redline MTL in transmission
- Redline WaterWetter in radiator
- Secret Ignition spark plug wires
- Sabelt 3" 4-point cam-lock harness

Evolution school? That's the best money I ever spent.
I know someone who has taken Phase I and II like 4-6 times
And she's a 3 time Nationals winner.

get some race tires on a seperate set of rims. Kuhmo has some cheep ones. But if you got the $$ get hoosiers. But remember you can never street race tires.

I reccomend getting a Laser Thermometer. Its a little gun that you point at sometihng, and it tells you the temp. anyways after youre run. Have a buddy check each wheel and write down the temps. inside/ middle/ outside. Do all tires asap. record after each race. Then take the numbers to youre performance mechanic and tell them to align it.
If its hotter on the inside. decrease the -camber. you want all 3 numbers to be the same. That means that all of the tire is being used. I will try to find the link to where i got my lazer thermometer at.

I am running 1/8 out the whole way around.
Evo School. Did a Phase I & II last year. May do a phase III this year. Not sure I gained that much from the Evo Schools last year. I did discover a few bad habits, but no drastic improvements.
What would be the alternative to having my current Konis revalved? Don't have the stock shocks any longer and can't have the car sitting that long.
