WARNING! AUTOX video not for the faint of heart
I guess this happeed back in Houston sometime in 2000. I freaked when I saw this, not for the faint of heart. I hope everyone was OK after this.
what is the point of posts like this? i don't get it. any sport is dangerous. i've seen some pretty gruesome **** just watching a basketball game. why do we have as humans have to enjoy other's suffering? i could understand if it was a before un-known risk, but come on, if someone doesn't realize that standing really close to a car being driven at it's handling limit is dangerous having them see this video won't help.
to this thread. waste of band-width if you ask me.
post some videos of people driving at their best, or at least them screwing up in a funny way. i don't need to see more death and destruction. i've got channel 5 for that.

Let me set a few things straight.....
We know this sport has inherent risk, we dont need to glorify it.
The event was at Bowling Green, for some C5 Corvette thing they were doing. It was not a SCCA event, the spectators should not have been next to the course, and the course should have been much further away from the curbing - i dont know the exact number but i want to say 75 feet.
Nearly every scca event i've run has been "safe" in that the proximity from fixed objects is maximized the the course designer does things like follows around light poles instead of toward them. A few non-scca events i have run do not follow these guidelines.... Irregardless, things will happen.
