Can shocks be changed later w/out changing coilovers again?
Just got back from the local import store today and left me a little confused. I was planning on putting on a set of Ground Control coilovers on my 01 GSR and put on tokicos shocks later. The sales rep. tells me if i'm planning to get tokicos, then i should do it all at once. Reasonable cause it is cheaper. My question is this though, i just wanted to put on the coilovers only and do the shocks later cause i'm a little tied up in tuition for school. The rep. tells me that i can't do that cause when i'm ready to put on the shocks, i gotta swap out my coilovers and get another set of Ground control to match up with the tokicos. Huh??? I know the cap sitting on top of the springs has to be changed but he's telling me the whole coilovers has to be changed. Now i don't know should i even get the coilovers or just wait and get it all at once. Please reply if anyone can help me out. Thx!

You can definitely do what you're planning. GCs that work with stock shocks would also work with tokico shocks.
He's just trying to get you to spend more, you got nothing to worry about unless you decide to get koni's instead which will require an adapter from GC.

just save up and do it later. try to make a new friend that knows how to work on tegs so he can install the shocks for you.
The only thing that is correct that he said is that its going to cost less if you do it all at once but then again you can install it yourself.
