Default Home Depot Project: EF Canards

Bought a piece of black 1/8" Plexi at home depot, made a template, cut them out, heated them up and bent them, drilled out screw holes and mounted it to the underside of my bumper.
Really easy...
Don't have them on my car anymore - but thought some of you might be interested?...
Hope the pics work:

I guess I could make some for people if they really wanted. But I also thought about just posting the template up here and letting people go for it themselves. It's really easy...
My CRX is an 88 and they mounted onto the bottomof the bumper really easy - but I dunno if 89-91 are all the same?

canards???? IMO, that is the ugliest thing u can do to a car....those have no place on an EF, or for any car for that matter, unless its a serious track car that can pull very high speeds in turns...thats about as bad as the useless carbon fiber or aluminum double decker wings......

thanks everyone for the positive replies!
tightDA6 - I agree canards have absolutely no functional purpose on an EF - my car is not a track car and my B18c1 at 165whp doesn't throw down nearly enough power to acually need them, but I thought they looked pretty good regardless.
the Home Depot duckbill was next on my list - I'll keep everyone posted...
I was toying with the idea of selling that set - but I think I'll just make another one if people are interested?...
I will bring in the template to work with me tomorrow and post it up.

one thing i will give ya props on is that at least ur not sporting the other canards that are affixed to the higher part of the bumpers, ya know, the ones that are setup to have one on top of the other.....the ones that u made sorta resemble the ones on Hamann Kits made for E36 and E46 BMW's..

tightDA6:
thanks, I'm not a big fan of the upper canards.
My goal when I made these was for a small lip just to add a bit of interest to the EF front end, and yes I did steal a bit of the idea from the BMW (even VW I think?) front lips that are more of a flat projection out from the underside of the bumper.

I would be interested in a set possibly. I want to try and make my own first though and see how they turn out. I'll keep an eye out for the template. Thanks!

Sorry.

Those ARE NOT considered Canards.

You can probably refer to them as "splitters", but non-functional ones at best.

yes I know they're not true canards, but it gives people the best idea of what the post is about.
they're more like air splitters or "winglets" at best...
haha
