Okay, I did a search about proper bedding in of pads and have gotten various answers. I got a free set of EBC greens, front and rear, and I would like to know how to properly break them in. Baer brakes give instructions for Carbon/Metallic brakes but on another site they give a much less dramatic description on bedding pads.
Is there a difference in the way you bed pads depending on brake material or is it all the same?
What is a proven procedure for bedding in pads properly? I'm confused as to the correct procedure to use?
Here are two sites I've come across:
http://www.baer.com/Support/TechTips.aspx?TechTipID=5
http://mysite.verizon.net/romano.mic..._Procedure_for
Thanks for any help you can give.

Step 2: Douse box in gasoline
Step 3: Light box on fire
Step 4: Buy ANYTHING else
Don't care if they were free, you still paid too much.

My suggestion:
Step 1: Put them on.
Step 2: Do 4-6 medium stops from 60-5
Step 3: Cruise for 10 minutes
Step 4: Do 4-6 hard stops from 60-5
Step 5: Take off pads do to fact that they've been worn down to backing plate.
Step 6: Buy anything else.

i have ebc's on now and i dont think they are that bad, they are definatly better then stock, that being said though, i think my next set of pads im going to try some hawk hp+ to try something else so i have some better comparison
I had a rude awakening a few years ago with these pads myself. Although the boys are being a bit sarcastic, these pads honestly suck. I would argue that they are NOWHEREclose to stock. With so many other pads on the market I would sell them to someone, since you paid nothing for them, and buy yourself something better

I personally know 2 people who've had bad experiences with them. The EBC pads/stock rotors never saw any track days and yet it warped the rotors making highspeed stops damned scary behind the wheel.
Damn, I just got some EBC green's after I bought the used DX hatch month and a half ago (I used the search function and for some reason they appeared to be good back then!). I have the impression my rotors are starting to warp; I'm going to try some of the Carbotech stuff before I waste the rotors.

I think I hold the record. Redstuff, to the backing plate in 60 VIR full-course miles. 10 of which were orientation laps.
That was NOT funny....
